SUSHI MAKI

 

When we first worked with Sushi Maki in 2012, the sushi experience was polarizing. It was either super fancy and intimidating, or gas station sketch. 

Sushi Maki though had a perfect niche in the middle with the high quality sushi you’d find at the Ritz and Four Seasons (literally, they cater there) but with no side eye if you ask for a fork or call your date your soy mate. 

But that was then …. now, sushi night has been fully rolled into the weekly rotation. And while the world was falling in love with Sushi, Sushi Maki was growing their brand and business partnership with Whole Foods and other big brands. 

Our work was to accentuate and evolve everything that was right (and there was is much right) and make sure that as we updated the graphics we did not lose the soul: an easy task when the owners remain a true family business and are as down to earth as it comes. 


The Brand Refresh rolled out (puns!) with the opening of a new location in Coconut Grove, Miami. So, in addition to adding handcrafted details to everything from the logos, fonts and updating graphics, we also applied worked on the interiors and exteriors of the new spot.
